Murray State College has named Cali Grimmett as the Executive Director of Financial Aid and Academic Records. In this role, Grimmett will oversee all aspects of financial aid and student records management, ensuring compliance with regulations, streamlining operations and enhancing the student experience.
With a strong background in academic administration, Grimmett brings extensive experience and a deep commitment to student success. Her leadership will be instrumental in aligning student services by fostering efficiency and supporting the college’s institutional goals.
“Cali demonstrates exceptional leadership through her strong work ethic, dedication to student success and commitment to extensive collaboration with faculty and staff,” said Kandy Rutledge, Murray State College Assistant Vice President of Enrollment Management. “Her passion for helping students and her ability to build strong, supportive relationships make her an invaluable asset to Murray State.”
Grimmett first joined Murray State as the Registrar, where she played a pivotal role in managing student records and academic processes. Recognized for her expertise and leadership, she was soon asked to serve as Interim Financial Aid Director while the college sought a permanent candidate. During this time, she developed a deep appreciation for the critical role that financial aid plays in students' educational journeys.
Understanding the close relationship between financial aid and academic records, Grimmett sees her dual oversight as an opportunity to improve processes and better serve students.
“The Financial Aid and Registrar offices work hand-in-hand to meet critical student needs,” Grimmett said. “By leading both departments, I can identify common ground and implement more efficient ways to process student records, ultimately enhancing the experience for students and their families.”
Grimmett received a bachelor’s degree in Marketing and Sports Management from Oklahoma State University before completing both her MBA and master’s degree in Human Resource Management. Prior to joining Murray State last January, she spent 10 years working in the Human Resources department at the Chickasaw Nation.
“Cali Grimmett’s leadership and dedication to student success make her the perfect choice for this role,” said Dr. Tim Faltyn, Murray State College President. “Her strategic vision and commitment to student-centered solutions will ensure that Murray State College continues to provide high-quality support to its diverse student body.”
