Murray State College Assistant Professor Dr. Sheena Connolly has been elected to serve a two-year term on the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education (OSRHE) Faculty Advisory Council. In her role as Murray State’s Faculty Assembly Chair, Dr. Connolly represents the college at the OSRHE Faculty General Assembly and now serves on the statewide advisory council, which provides faculty perspectives to the Chancellor and State Regents.

Dr. Connolly teaches Anatomy & Physiology I & II, Principles of Biology, and Special Problems in Microbiology. She also plays an active role in curriculum development, laboratory instruction, and the creation of new interdisciplinary courses that bridge Science and Agriculture.

“The council plays an important role in identifying the perspectives and interests of faculty across Oklahoma,” Connolly said. “I am honored and grateful for the opportunity to help communicate those views to the Chancellor and the State Regents. I look forward to contributing to meaningful conversations that support our institutions, our colleagues and the students we serve.”

In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Connolly serves as STEM Program Camp Co-Chair, an academic advisor and a member of Murray’s Nursing Program Selection Committee. She is also engaged in college governance and faculty leadership, currently serving as Chair of the Faculty Assembly.

Dr. Connolly joined Murray State College in August 2023. She has a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology and a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Oklahoma State University, along with postgraduate certifications in Wildlife Veterinary Medicine & Conservation from Purdue University and in Animal Chiropractic from Parker University. Before joining Murray State, she built a diverse career in veterinary medicine, including roles in equine sports medicine, mixed-animal practice, and clinical instruction.

“Dr. Connolly represents the very best of Murray State College—excellence in teaching, dedication to service, and a true commitment to student success,” said Dr. Tim Faltyn, President of Murray State College. “Her election to the Faculty Advisory Council shows not only her expertise but also the respect she has earned throughout the state. We are proud to have her represent our college and help shape important conversations about the future of higher education in Oklahoma.”
