Murray State College recruiting participants for collegiate shooting sports team
March 30, 2020
Murray State College is currently recruiting students to participate in a newly formed collegiate shooting sports team. The opportunity is open to current MSC students as well as those starting their freshman year in fall 2020. Those chosen to be part of the team will be eligible for tuition waivers each semester in which they participate.
Currently, it is anticipated that the MSC shooting sports team will begin competing in fall 2020. Team members will participate in four collegiate shooting sports competitions each semester in addition to coordinating and hosting youth shooting sports events in the area.
“This is a great opportunity for students to improve their shooting skills in a competition-based environment. Murray State, with our shooting range and gunsmithing program, is the perfect choice for students with an interest in competitive shooting sports,” said MSC President Joy McDaniel.
Murray State’s shooting sports program is being led by Sam Holt, Assistant Vice President of Facilities and Security. A certified NRA shotgun trainer and chief range safety officer, Holt also serves as MSC’s Chief of Police.\
