Governor Stitt Appoints Dr. Gary Greene to Murray State College Board Of Regents

Governor Kevin Stitt has appointed local Tishomingo rancher Dr. Gary Greene to the Murray State College Board of Regents. Greene’s appointment has been confirmed by the Oklahoma Senate, and he will begin serving a seven-year term in June 2020. Greene replaces Regent Dr. Scott Wood.
Greene, originally from Beckham County, is the owner of Round Rock Ranch, an Angus and Charolais cow calf operation. A Vietnam veteran, he served in the 32nd Army Air. He completed a degree in Natural Science Education at Southwestern State College. His master’s degree in economics was awarded by the University of Missouri. He earned a doctorate in education/economics from Oklahoma State University.
“Gary Greene has been an incredible supporter of Murray State College for many, many years. He most recently served as the chair of our foundation where he took the lead on a variety of projects,” said MSC President Joy McDaniel.
“We welcome him to the board as a creative thinker and dedicated leader. His experience in education and economic development will be valuable assets to the board, students, faculty, staff and community members,” added McDaniel.
Greene has spent most of his career in higher education while employed at Oklahoma State University, Kansas State University and the University of Oklahoma, from which he retired after 22 years of service. He has published over 40 articles in national and regional research journals. He serves as a board member of the Oklahoma Independent Stock Growers Association.
