Generally within each of these areas, students are offered several options or specialties in the path toward a degree. For example, the Associate of Arts in communication and performance studies offers communication, musical theater and theater options to allow students to specialize in the area that matches their desired career path. Associate of Science
Murray State College’s Associate of Science degree programs cover a wide variety of fields including agriculture, arts, behavioral science, business, computer science, conservation, criminal justice, education, enterprise development, health, international studies and science, as well as specialties in each of these main categories. Generally, each area of study offers several options for students. For example, within agriculture you can chose from agricultural communications, agricultural education, animal science, plant science or environmental science options. Associate of Applied Science
Murray State College’s Associate of Applied Science (A.A.S.) degree programs cover a wide variety of fields including business management, child development, computer information systems, gunsmithing, nursing, occupational therapy, physical therapy, and veterinary technology.
The Associate of Applied Science degree options are designed for students who want to enter a specialized workforce as soon as possible. The AAS. coursework involves time in laboratory and clinical settings specific to the degree program and is often performed in real-world clinical settings. This is different than AA or AS degree programs involving attendance of lecture courses and general education classes that could later be applied toward a bachelor’s degree. Associate of Applied Science degree options at Murray State College include administrative accounting, business management, child development, computer information systems, custom gunmaking, gunsmithing technology, legal assistant, medical office assistant, nursing, occupational therapy assistant, office technology, physical therapist assistant, retail management, and veterinary technology.
Murray State College’s Certificate Programs cover a wide variety of fields including business, child development, manufacturing technology, and veterinary nursing.
The certificates are designed to help students get into the workforce as soon as possible. All certificate programs are made to work with Associate degrees. While the student is working towards a certain certificate, they are that much closer to finishing an Associate's degree.
