MSC Summer STEM Academy
Update: Cancelled for 2020
Fun hands-on activities, new friends, and a better understanding of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM)…those are just some of the things we hope to provide to young people from across Oklahoma who will be selected into the Murray State College Summer STEM Academy. Each day of the academy has a full schedule including such activities as electronics, astronomy, various engineering design competitions and more. At the same time students will enhance their skills in creativity, teamwork and analytical reasoning. In addition, the camps will culminate with a visit to the Perot Museum of Nature and Science in Dallas.
The MSC Summer STEM Academy strives to enhance student knowledge and interest in STEM subjects. Through stimulated learning opportunities and hands on learning experiences in mathematics, science and multi-disciplinary studies with integration of technology, the MSC Stem Academy is something you do not want to miss. College instructors lead classes and activities, assisted by MSC college students.
There will be two camps this summer, one will be at the UCSO campus in Ardmore (June 22 – 27, 2020) and the other on the main MSC campus in Tishomingo (July 6-11, 2020) Camps are open to students who will be 8th and 9th graders in the fall. Both camps will take place from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily
