Mr. Mickey Jack - Division Chair, Business and Professional Studies,
Director of Special Projects & Program Development
My name is Mickey Jack and I am the current Division Chair for Business and Professional Studies here at Murray State College as well as Director of Special Projects and Program Development. I graduated from Southeastern Oklahoma State University with a BS in Biological Health Sciences and from Arkansas State University with a MPA. Prior to my career here at MSC, I worked in the mental health field as well as an extensive career in retail management.
I am passionate about providing our students with top quality education to prepare them for their future. I feel MSC offers students a chance to dream big in a comfortable setting. It provides a more personalized experience than larger universities can offer. I am blessed to be a part of such an amazing opportunity to those who are willing to take the first action step toward a better tomorrow.
Mrs. Kathy Bowen – Associate Professor, Phi Beta Lambda Advisor
I am Kathy Bowen, Associate Professor for Business & Professional Studies at Murray State College. I began working for Murray in the 1990s as an Adjunct Instructor. Fourteen years ago I became a full-time faculty and Program Chair for Business Management. I also served for several years as the Division Chair for the division, and just recently “retired” to the position of Faculty, to spend more time working with students. The reason I stay in education is that I strive to make a difference in the lives of students. Through their course work and our student organization, Phi Beta Lambda, I want students to achieve their goals and dreams. Serving as a PBL adviser is a great experience for me. With our students I have traveled across the United States and explored new places. Through PBL I have watched many students grow in their education, leadership, and service to others.
I received my Bachelor’s Degree with a double major in Business Education and Management from Southeastern Oklahoma State University, a Master’s Degree in Secondary Education from East Central University, and am currently working on my MBA from Southeastern. I have also taught in secondary education and for the Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education. My husband and I have owned several small businesses. We have two grown daughters and several grandchildren. My husband, who is an Adjunct Instructor for Murray, and I are first-generation college students. We shared our passion for higher education with our daughters, who also work in public education. And now we are passing on the desire to learn to our grandchildren. Life is good!
