MSC does not provide personal computer, modem, software, or ISP technical support.

As soon as you have registered for your course:

  • Contact your instructor by email

Most online courses require:   

  • Login with a Username and password

  • Additional Access Code (also called PIN) 

Check your instructor's syllabus to see if your course requires an additional Access Code.

If you are taking more than one online course, you must send an email to each of your instructors.  You may have a different password for each of your online courses.  Send an email to your instructor from the current semester list of online courses.  Go to Support Staff for a list of online instructor information. Your instructor will reply with course information and your Username and password, if applicable.

Remember!

  • Online courses begin the same day as regular on-campus courses

  • Online course Username and password will be activated the first day of class or before

If you are attending on-campus courses as well as online courses, you will be able to use the MSC computer labs located on campus.  In order to access the computers on campus, you will be assigned a Username and Password.  You can access campus computers by following these instructions:

                                               Example for student:

                                                    Henry Jones

                                                    With a student identification number

                                                    000012345

                                                Would be:

                                                    Username: jone2345

                                                    The password would be:

                                                    000012345

This Username and Password is only for access to on-campus computer labs.  You might be given an additional Username and Password for your online course entry. If your instructor gives you a Username and Password for course entry remember the following:

  • Usernames and Passwords are ALL lower-case letters  
    (EXAMPLE:  password, not PassWord).  The most common logon problem is from not using all lower case.  
  • You are responsible for remembering your Username and password.  If you forget your password, send an email to your instructor.  The requesting email address must be the one your instructor has listed for you.  
  • Your Usernames and password will not be given over the phone.
  • DO NOT share your Username and password.   

 

If, after you have sent an initial email to your instructor and received your Username and Password, you cannot access your course material, contact the Distance Learning Office at (580) 371-2371, extension 123 or pwashington@mscok.edu or the MSC IT Deparment at 580-371-2371.

If you contact the office by phone, or leave a voice mail message, please be prepared to include the following information:

  • Your Username
  • Your Password
  • The URL, (address, "http://...") you are unable to access
  • Your instructor's name
  • Your course name, number, and section  (EX:  1601 ENG 1113)
  • Are you using a PC or MAC
  • Your operating system (Windows XP, NT, 2000, etc.)
  • Browser type and version (EX:  Internet Explorer 7)
