ADMISSION APPLICATION ORIENTATION

Program Applications are due on or before the last Friday in April, 2010. (4-30-10)

Only prospective applicants who attended an application orientation class are eligible to apply to the PTA program.  If you did not attend an application class and are interested in applying to the PTA program, then you will need to begin the process earlier next year.  Class dates for the next application year will be posted by January 1st, 2011.   

CLASS SCHEDULE 2010

Individuals who desire to apply to the next MSC Physical Therapist Assistant class (10/11) and will have completed all required 1st year course work before the beginning of the Fall 2010, must attend a PTA Program Admission/ Application Orientation Class.  These classes last approximately 1 hour and are required to ensure that every applicant receives correct information about the process.  It is at this class that you will receive the available dates for the admission test, information on how to access the application packet, as well as the official submission envelope used to submit your application and application materials.

Choose the class time from the list below and contact the PTA Program director by email to make an appointment for one of the scheduled classes.  You can click on this link to email the program director or using this email address grobinson@mscok.edu.  Please email your request at least 3 working days before the scheduled class if possible and watch for a confirmation email returned to you.  Include your name and phone contact number in your email requesting a class date.  All classes will be held at Murray State College in the PTA Classroom at the end of the hallway in the N/AH building.  Available space in each class is limited and is available on a first email contact basis.

  • Contact the program director to schedule the date you desire to attend. 

  • All classes begin at 4:00pm and should end by 5:15pm. 

  • Each class will be limited to approximately 15 people. 

  • It is important not to miss any of the information presented in the application class, therefore anyone who arrives late after 4:00pm will not be admitted and will have to make an appointment for another scheduled class or make arrangements with the program director.

  • All classes will be held at Murray State College in the PTA Classroom at the west end of the hallway in the N/AH building.

There is a cost of $40 to take this exam Cash or Check made out to MSC.

DO NOT MAKE AN APPOINTMENT FOR AN ADMISSION CLASS THAT CONFLICTS WITH YOU COLLEGE COURSE SCHEDULE.  

Applications will be accepted from students who meet the admission criteria as stated in the PTA Program requirements.  Every applicant to the program must complete or show evidence that they will satisfactorily complete all-prerequisite classes by the end of the Spring semester.  Conditional application may be made with the prior permission of the program director for those students who have completed the majority of prerequisite classes and will complete all required course work prior to the beginning of the Fall semester.

Applications are due on or before the last Friday in April, 2010.

The following activities must be done as part of the application process but do not need to be done prior to attending the orientation class. 

1.                  Submission of a Murray State College application, unless currently enrolled at the Tishomingo campus.

2.                  Submission to the Registrar’s Office of ALL of the following, requesting that copies be sent to the PTA Program Office.

a.                  Official ACT score report;

b.                  Official high school transcript or GED scores;

c.                  All official college transcripts.
