How Blue Can You Get?

  Web 1113 Home Page

This is the Home Page for students enrolled in Web 1113.  If you are a student accessing this page for the first time, please take a moment to familiarize yourself thoroughly with its contents. It contains links to all the Modules, as well as the other main sections of this Website, and much useful information about the class.

The Course Packet (unlike in previous semesters) is now contained in a .pdf file located in the Course Materials section of my Blackboard site.  You will have to access Blackboard and download the file.  I recommend that you print the Course Packet.  It contains a lot of pages (106).  But printing it up will make it easier to handle.  Make sure your pages are numbered.  The big handwritten numbers in the top right-hand corner of each page are the correct numbers.  If these numbers did not scan (or did not print) you will need to number the pages after you print them.  Start with the Introduction as page one, and go on from there.  You should have a total of 106 pages when you are done.

In order to be able to do the download, you will need to download the Adobe Acrobat Reader (if you do not already have a version of it loaded on your computer).  There is a link to that Adobe Acrobat Reader file on the MSC homepage.  If you click on the Frequently Asked Questions about Blackboard link on the left side of the page, then click on Plug-ins, you will get a list of downloads.  One of them is Adobe Acrobat.  Just click on that link and follow the instructions.  If you have cable or DSL Internet, the download time should be short.  If you have a dial-up connection (in other words, you do not have cable or DSL Internet), it will take longer for the file to download.

  SUBMISSION PROCEDURE

Note: In order to submit essays for Web 1113 and have them evaluated, you must be a student in good standing at Murray State College, be officially enrolled in Web 1113, and follow the procedure described below.

All essays MUST conform to the guidelines listed in the Statement of Policy on the Web 1113 Course Page.  If you have not yet read the Statement of Policy, please do so now.  Submissions which violate these guidelines will not be accepted.

All submissions MUST be sent as an attachment to an E-Mail message.

This E-Mail message MUST contain—in the big blank Message portion at the bottom, not on the Subject line in the Heading section at the top—the following information: the Student's Name, the Module Number, the Paper Number, and whether or not the attached assignment is a revision.  Many students just type their paper headings into the Message section of the E-mail to which their essay is attached.  For example:

John Smith

Module 2

Paper 1

Not a revision

Submissions which do not follow ALL of the above requirements will be deleted, unread.
