Donna
Graves is a proud, native Texan. She attended Texas
State University and received a B.S. Education (1980) and M.A.
in Theatre Arts and Speech Communications (1988). She taught in several
public high schools in Texas and Oklahoma, as well as Texas State,
prior to beginning her part-time teaching career with Murray
State College in 1995. Along with teaching Speech, Composition
I/II, & Basic English at MSC, Donna currently works as the professional
writing tutor in the library’s
Help Center. Outside of classes on campus, she is also an active
volunteer in the MSC Theatre Department and usually can’t resist
the temptation to flirt with costume theatrics in and out of the classroom.
Professional affiliations include: The
American Association of University Professors, The
National Communication Association, Teachers
of College English in Two Year Colleges, and the Southwest
Theatre Association.
Outside
of class, Donna enjoys family time with her husband of twenty-one
years, Kerry, and fifteen year old son, Grant. She enjoys painting
(watercolor/acrylic) and ratting through flea markets with fellow
instructor West in hopes of finding a rare pot worth millions of
dollars.
