Student Support Services

Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded program designed to assist eligible students with their academic endeavors. The program’s goal is to improve the retention and graduation rate of eligible students. Services offered include academic advisement, career and personal counseling, study skills workshops, and transfer assistance. To meet the eligibility requirements, you must:

  1. be enrolled as a MSC student
  2. have an academic need
  3. belong to one of the following groups
    • first generation college student
      (neither parent has a 4-year college degree)
    • financially disadvantaged (as determined by federal guidelines)
    • have a documented disability

In addition, a student must also have an academic need for program services.
Services Provided by the Program May Include:

  • Instruction in basic study skills
  • Tutorial services
  • Academic, financial, or personal counseling
  • Assistance in securing admission and financial aid for enrollment in four-year institutions
  • Information about career options
