Mark Hamilton 

Mark Hamilton came on board as Murray State College’s women’s basketball and women’s softball coach in 2000.  Though born in Texas, Hamilton considers himself an Oklahoma native, having lived here for the past thirty plus years.  Hamilton received an Associate of Science degree in Engineering from Murray State College in 1981 and earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Southeastern Oklahoma State University in Mathematics and Physical Education in 1984.  Hamilton enters his twenty-fourth year of coaching having coached basketball, softball, and baseball to students from fifth grade through junior college levels, as well as coaching players from five year-olds to adults in various leagues and organizations.  Entering the 2007-08 season Coach Hamilton has accumulated career records of 289-261 in basketball and 260-175 in softball.  Coach Hamilton and his wife, Lori, have three children; Ashley, 24, a graduate of East Central State University; Jacob, 22,  a senior at Southeastern Oklahoma State University; and Lucas, 12, a seventh grader at Coleman Middle School.  Ashley is also the mother of Coach Hamilton’s grandson, Caden Rilee, born in May, 2005, and granddaughter Kaley Dawn, born in October, 2007.  She is married to Jason Collins, a graduate of East Central State University, who is a member of the U.S. Army and is stationed at Fort Drum, New York.

The Murray State College athletic program offer's both women's and men's basketball, baseball, and softball.  Both of the Murray State basketball teams compete in Region II, Division I of the NJCAA. The baseball team and softball teams compete in Region II, Division II of the NJCAA.
