How to use Outlook Web Access on a Windows XP SP2-based computer

To connect to Outlook Web Access on a Windows XP SP2-based computer, you must use one of the following methods.
Method 1 In Internet Explorer, add the URL for the Outlook Web Access Web site to the Allowed Sites list for the Pop-up Blocker. We recommend this action. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. On the Tools menu, click Pop-up Blocker, and then click Pop-up Blocker Settings.

  2. In the Address of Web site to allow box, type the URL of the Outlook Web Access Web site.

  3. Click Add, and then click Close.

Note We recommend that you use method 1. Method 1 enables the Pop-up Blocker to continue to function on other Web sites.

Method 2 You can select the Basic client instead of the Premium client when you log on with Forms-Based Authentication.
Note If you do not have sufficient permissions to use method 1, we recommend that you use method 2. (For example, you may not have sufficient permissions to use method 1 if you are using a kiosk computer.)

Method 3
You can lower the Filter level. This enables some pop-up advertisements to appear, but some Outlook Web Access functionality may no longer work as expected.

Additionally, you can turn off the Pop-up Blocker in Internet Explorer. However, we do not recommend this action.

The spam folder in outlook is shown by default in Outlook 2003 on the left pane with a folder name of "Spam"
The spam folder in outlook is shown by default in Outlook Web Access on the left pane, under the folder tab, with a folder name of "Spam"
Three subfolders are contained under the Spam folder:

The Blocked Senders Folder
The blocked senders folder provides you with the ability to create lists of email addresses that you never want to receive messages from again. For the most part, you will not need to maintain a large blocked senders folder as much of the unsolicited spam email you would normally receive will be stopped by iHateSpam before it reaches your inbox, however, if you receive messages that still slip by from the same sender over and over again, simply drop one of these messages in your blocked senders folder and you will never receive one of these messages again. It is not necessary to put messages that are in your quarantine folder here as they are already being caught by iHateSpam.

The Quarantine Folder
The quarantine folder is your spam catching folder that the system has installed. All messages that are determined as spam messages will be automatically placed in this folder by the based on your spam detection settings. You can delete messages or the entire contents of this folder at any time, and it is suggested to do so as often as you like as to keep the size of your mailbox free from spam.
In addition, you can drag messages from this folder to any other folder just like you would a normal email message. If you would like to apply spam filtering allowed senders or blocked senders to any message in this folder, just drag the message into the allowed senders folder if you would like any other message from this sender to never be quarantined again, or drag it into your blocked senders folder if you would never like to receive an email message from the sender of this message again.
Also, you can delete this folder as well at anytime to delete its entire contents of spam messages in one easy step. The next time you receive a spam message, the system will automatically rebuild this folder and place the spam message in it.

The Allowed Senders Folder
The allowed senders folder provides you with the abilty to create lists of email addresses that you always want to recieve messages from. Any email placed in this folder will never be quarantined. If you want to always allow an email to get through, such as email lists you subscribe to, but do not want to add this address to your contact lists, simply drop one of these messages in your allowed senders folder and you will never have to worry about an email from that sender getting quarantined again.

Save attachments elsewhere and delete the emails that contain them. Delete the contents of your Spam folder. Empty your Recycle Bin. Delete old emails regularly.
Each student is allocated 25MB of storage space on the mail server.
Your password can be changed using the change password button under options. This will also change the password you use to log onto the workstations on campus.

Passwords can be reset in person only. A current Murray State College Student ID will be required.

NO EXCEPTIONS.
