Murray State College Commencement Set

Murray State College is proud to announce its Commencement Ceremony, Friday, May 9 at 7:00 p. m. on the North Lawn of the Administration Building. More than 400 students from across Southern Oklahoma and beyond are expected to take part in the ceremony.

Graduates are to assemble at 6:30 p.m. in Fletcher Auditorium. On the North Lawn, seating will be provided for graduates, and limited seating will be provided for family members. Those attending are encouraged to bring along lawn chairs to ensure seating. The evening of graduation, a free boxed meal will be served on campus in the MSC Dining Hall in Park Student Center beginning at 5:30 p. m. The meal will also be available at the mobile concession stand located on the lawn to the west of the Student Center. The free boxed dinner is available to the public.

Graduates needing more information can find it here.

Oklahoma Governor Mary Fallin will be the commencement speaker. Governor Fallin, elected in 2011, is the first women elected governor of Oklahoma.

INCLEMENT WEATHER PLAN: In the event that it has been determined that weather conditions will prevent a North Lawn ceremony, a notice will be posted on the MSC website by 3:00 p.m. on May 9th. Under the inclement weather plan, there will be two ceremonies in Fletcher Auditorium. One ceremony for Associate in Art (AA) and Associate in Applied Science (AAS) will be held at 5:30 p.m. followed by a second ceremony for Associate in Science (AS) degrees at 7:30 p.m. All students, family and friends will assemble in Beames Fieldhouse as a holding location for the upcoming ceremonies.
