Enroll now for the Spring Session

Enroll now for the Spring Semester at Murray State College. Classes begin on January 13th. You can enroll in classes through January 17th, but sign up early to be sure to get the classes that you want. There are enrollment options available for students of any age and background to attend college.

A statewide program is making it easier for adults to go back to college. “Reach Higher” is Oklahoma’s degree completion program. By offering low tuition and flexible class schedules, the program helps working adults take the classes they need to finish their degrees.

Another option allows high school juniors and seniors to concurrently enroll in college courses. Concurrent enrollment can give some students credit toward their high school diploma, and provides students a head start in college. Students who have concurrently enrolled at Murray State College have graduated from high school with enough credit hours to qualify them as a college sophomore. Courses that are included on the statewide transfer matrix, maintained by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education, will also transfer to other state institutions.

“We want to encourage eligible high school junior and senior students in our 10 county service area to take of advantage of the opportunity to take college classes while still in high school,” says Murray State College President Joy McDaniel. “It is a great opportunity right here in your own backyard.”

Concurrent enrollment can be a money-saver for students who plan to attend a four year public or private university after graduation. While no financial assistance is available for high school juniors, high school seniors are eligible for up to six hours per semester of free tuition with no income restrictions.

“This might be the only time that students from middle income households qualify for any type of financial aid other than scholarships,” says Murray State College President Joy McDaniel. “Our courses are considered a best value as the cost is more than 30% less than most public four year universities in our state and more than half the price of classes taken at OU and OSU.”

Anyone interested in concurrent enrollment or the Reach Higher program at Murray State College is encouraged to contact Amanda Baldridge in the academic advisement center.
