2/12/2014

The Murray State College basketball team dropped two games versus Northeastern Oklahoma A & M last Thursday.

The Lady Aggies fell short in the contest against the Lady Norse 62 to 78.  Toni Cheadle led the Lady Aggies with 24 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists and one block.  Ivana Jakubcova put up 10 points and brought down 5 rebounds.  Other scorers for the women were Jasmine Gaddis with 10 points, Ashley O’Dell with 9, and LaShanda Green with seven.

Head Women's Coach Phil Daniel says the Ladies did a great job on defense and limiting turnovers in the first half, holding their own against a tough team.

"At the half we were up seven points on the number twelve in the nation,” he says.  “But in the second half, they just started hitting shots from all over the place."

Mario FleurimaThe Men took a 46 to 60 loss against the Golden Norsemen.  For the Aggies, Mario Fleurima led scoring with 20 points.  Clement Bonardo added 15 points and 3 rebounds.  Wyatt Smith contributed 5 points and 8 rebounds.

Monday’s game at Seminole was canceled due to the weather.  The next home game for both the Men and Women is Thursday, February 6 at 6:00 pm versus NOC-Tonkawa.
